9/11 National Day of Service

As we approach, 9-11 National Day of Service, we commemorate the lives lost in the 2001, September 11 attack, by transforming a day of sorrow into a day of service! There are a number of different organizations that are coordinating community act ivies to serve on this day. Please find time in your busy schedule to volunteer or donate funds to help make a difference in your community.

To volunteer or to make a donation, here's a list of charitable organizations that could use your help:

* Greater DC Cares - President Obama volunteer service program dedicated to rebuilding the District of Columbia.

* The G.I.V.E Project - Sign up to teach English as a second language to people in the Tyson's Corner area (no degree required) contact: Patty Richardson at 703-854-3253

* The H.O.P.E Project -Helping young adults acquire skills to be competitive in today's work force.
