Van der Sloot Strikes Again

Remember Joran Van der Sloot? The man who was/is the person of interest in the disappearance of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway, who went missing during a senior class trip to Aruba in May 2005? Well Van der Sloot is back in police custody for being the prime suspect for yet another murder, a 21 year-old Peruvian girl, Stephany Flores Ramirez. Details in the clip below:

Just three days after the fifth anniversary of Holloway’s disappearance, the body of 21-year-old Stephany Flores Ramirez was discovered in a Lima Peru hotel room, on the avenue Miraflores district, Peruvian newspaper El Comercio reports. According to police reports, the girl was found half naked on the floor of their hotel room, brutally beaten and with a broken neck.

According to the Peruvian newspaper, the hotel room where Ramirez’s body was found was registered under van der Sloot’s name. Hotel employees also told police that they saw him with the girl over the weekend.

UPDATE:

In recent news, Van der Sloot was found and detained in Chile, and transported back to Peru, where he has reportedly confessed to the crime. While his lawyer was not present during the confession, prosecutors move forward in processing formal charges against Van der Sloot. Reports state that there is no death penalty or life sentence in the Peruvian judicial system, so if convicted, Van der Sloot is expected to serve 15-35 years in jail.
